Are You Steam Cravin’ ?

Picked up a StreamCrave RTDA tank called the Aromamizer Supreme V4 two weeks ago and am quite happy with the results. I saw a couple of video reviews and because I have not purchased a tank in quite a while, this one seemed quite versatile and by gosh it is. SteamCrave has been making products for 15 years!

The things it can transform into: (I think they should have named it the Aromamizer Transformer Supreme V4)

  1. Regular straight glass tank RDTA 7.5ml
  2. Bubble glass tank RDTA 10ml
  3. Mesh deck tank and RDA
  4. Dual or single coil postless deck, although dual coil works best
  5. Squonk pins for both RDA and RDTA configurations!

The top cap metal seemed thin to me typical of asian 304 stainless steel but it turns out surprisingly strong. It’s not 316 medical grade steel (higher cost) but it still feels strong. I believe it’s made of 304 stainless steel.

The machining and threading are fine and I particularly like the simple design and the fine knurling on the center tube and the bottom cap. The logo and text are actually engraved in the metal and not too flashy as I purchased the stainless steel version.

SteamCrave tanks are gennerally huge, like up to 20-32ml of eliquid. I just dont need to carry that much eliquid around. This one is 25mm in width (the smallest RDTA tank they make) and carries 7.5-10ml of eliquid.

The Aromamizer has always been noted for great flavor while giving you plenty of airflow options. This tank does not disappoint in those two categories. It starts off with a light restricted direct lung (RDL) draw (single slot) all the way to almost fully open (three slot) direct lung (DL) draw. It’s easy to turn the airflow control ring to get four different honeycomb filters and anything in between.

It’s hard for me to compare their other or older tanks because I have wanted to, but never owned one. They seem to think this one is supreme.

The top cap is easy to remove and replace and still stays in place because of the two well machined o-ring grooves and the big posts that hold it into position. The cap post holes act as eliquid fill holes! Re applying the top cap is a two click process that feels firm and happily this boy does not leak at all. It comes designed for 810 drip tips and no 510 adapter is included 🙁

I can recommend this tank to anyone who enjoys versatility, good flavor and ease of use in a well made tank that can provide a ton of vapor with lots of air flow possibilities at a reasonable cost. The only place I could find one here in the US at this time was Element Vape.

Measured dimensions: 44.2 mm tall 25.29 mm wide 12.42 mm drip tip bore opening.

The Terminator

The Terminator. 12/14/2012. MSRP $59. Similar to the GG Ithaca, the Terminator was a not really a clone although some would consider it so as it functioned similarly to it as far as having to set up a NR to R wire to silica rope wrapped into a ceramic cup. It was much less expensive and probably made in Asia. It was only offered by one shop; Stormi’s Vapor Cellar I believe she had it commissioned and it also had a full compliment of accessories you could purchase for it as well. It was actually easier to set up than the Ithaca was.

VooPoo’s New PNP X Tanks

Voodoo’s 😉 new rev 2 pod tank… Pro’s: lots of air, inexpensive, the new PNP X coils are yes, better than the standard PNP’s and last much longer.

Setting a new standard. Pretty much leak proof bottom fill port, large volume of eLiquid. Could be a pro or con, top air flow. Con’s… can’t change drip tip, air flow is not very precise. No, not interchangeable (wont fit) with standard PNP coil holes as they are a bit wider.
MTL (most likely RDL) version is on the way.

The “MTL” version arrived the following week.

It is not really MTL, more in realm of RDL to DTL which is fine for me. I cant measure the diameter of the inlet hole but visually this model has a bit smaller hole but not by much. The nice thing is that this model comes with two standard 510 drip tips that are interchangeable. The “DTL” has a static drip tip and therefore cannot be replaced. The base size is the same and are interchangeable for color mixing.

The “DTL” comes with .15 and .30 PNP X coils and the “MTL” comes with .30 and the .60 PNP X coils respectfully.

If you are considering between the two models, I would recommend getting the “MTL” model just because you can change out the drip tips and a slightly tighter draw.

VM 18 On The Way

VM 18

Acquired one of the last of the Vaporesso VM tanks available to me via Element Vape is on the way. Even Vaporesso itself was sold out. This tank uses the venerable EUC ceramic coils which are arguably one of the best pre-made sub-ohm coils out there for flavor and longevity. The decision was made because of the current cost, availability and selection of simple bridges for Boro style tanks. We will see how this goes. More later.

Aspire To Be…

I forgot how good the Cleito 120 was… my Cleito 22’s coil was starting to spit no matter how I tried, I could not get it to stop, raising or lowering the voltage. This only meant that the cotton was just not touching the coil anymore, somewhere. So I took out my trusty 120 and inserted a new coil. Voila! Lot’s of great flavor and tons of vapor. All good once again.
